Wendy vs Tinkerbell is the name of the bar, meeting, and workshop space designed by artist Philip Wiegard at the Dortmund Art Association. Completely surrounded by purple and pink patterns, it hosts events with local partners, among other things. The title refers to two female characters from the Peter Pan story, whose contrasting personalities—rationality and magic, solidity and fluidity—engage in playful tension.

Wiegard's wallpaper designs are brought to life in multi-day workshops called Kids' Factory , which have already been held internationally. In these workshops, children learn the Moravian paste paper technique, originating in the Baroque period, participate directly in the creation of a work of art, and receive payment for their work. Since May 2025, the wallpapers created in Dortmund during one such workshop have formed the programmatic and rhythmic backdrop for events where diverse aesthetic practices and knowledge are shared, explored, and disseminated.

Philip Wiegard (born 1977, lives in Berlin) is a visual artist working with sculpture, photography, FIMO clay, and painting. He studied at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and Hunter College in New York. His work has been exhibited worldwide, often in conjunction with workshops, including at Galerie Crone, Vienna (2024), HKW, Berlin (2021), Between Bridges, Berlin, and the Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona (both 2018).

Hel Wagner (born 2000 in Traunstein) has lived in Dortmund since 2019. She studied photography at the University of Applied Sciences and is an artist and musician. Since graduating, she has worked in exhibition organization and arts and cultural education. Their aim is to integrate music more strongly into curatorial and educational practice.

Kendra Witzel (born 1997 in Cologne) is an artist and musician from Düsseldorf who co-organizes the concert series Mini Music Department and Ritus Underground Shows and hosts radio programs on Noods Radio, Narr Radio, and 674FM. Her music projects include angelito, Rhoda, Babyfloating, and Club Prizren.

Jamin Pamin (born 1994 in Hagen, lives and works in Münster) studied art at TU Dortmund University and the Münster Academy of Fine Arts under Suchan Kinoshita.

Aron Schmidtke (born 1997 in Essen, lives and works in Dortmund) completed his Master's degree in Art at TU Dortmund University.

Clara Cosima Wolff (born 1993 in Hagen) writes poetry, essays, and reviews, translates poems as part of the kolleginnen.kollektiv (collective), and performs with the collective lyrika. In 2026, she was the city chronicler of Dortmund and a resident artist at the Edenkoben Artists' House. Also in 2026, she co-founded letzter verlag (letzter-verlag.de).

Avanti is an open art and culture forum for ideas, exchange, and encounters, initiated by Frappanz e.V.. Frappanz develops projects in Dortmund's Klinikviertel at the intersection of art, design, society, and education, and realizes them in cooperation with freelance artists, cultural workers, and institutions.

Hans Ostapenko is a Ukrainian artist who has lived in Dortmund since 2006. Together with the collective MNPL, he works at the intersection of art and architecture, focusing on ideologically charged buildings. They jointly developed the sculpture PO-2022, which references the Berlin Wall and post-Soviet fences.

Kanade Hamawaki studied Fine Arts at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. Hamawaki utilizes site-specific and participatory installations, mapping, and artist's books as artistic media. Within these frameworks, process-oriented constellations unfold, aiming at situational perception and collective experience.

Nicole Kostezki studied art history in Düsseldorf and Paris. Her research focuses on cartographic practices in contemporary art and their potential to rethink territorial orders, boundaries, and spaces. She is currently developing a doctoral project at the University of Cologne.

Using text fragments, Debora Ando (born 1977 in São Paulo, Brazil) questions the perception and interpretation of urban space not only as a place, but also as a dynamic, constantly changing network of relationships and interactions. This conscious appropriation of a highly regulated and functionally driven system opens up a critical examination of norms and routines.

The Atelier Schreinerei was founded in 2013 in a former carpentry workshop. Its artistic approaches vary within the visual realm: painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture. In addition, the currently five-member community organizes interdisciplinary formats such as readings, live radio plays, performances, and concerts with other creative people.

Wendy vs Tinkerbell is a project within the Kreativ.Quartiere Ruhr program, funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and implemented by the Regionalverband Ruhr.
