Members

The Kunstverein is a publicly accessible, membership-based institution. In only a few places is participation in artistic production as natural and comprehensive as it is in an art association. The model allows for direct and active contemporaneity with artists and other art enthusiasts, engagement with and exploration of relevant discourses, as well as artistic and societal topics. The Kunstverein organizes special activities for its members, such as insights into exhibition setups, studio visits with young artists from the Ruhr area and Rhineland, day trips, and international travels to exhibitions and biennials.

With your membership, you engage in culture, strengthen an important meeting point for art enthusiasts in the city, and support the exhibitions, event programs, and educational activities of a bold, independent institution at the forefront of contemporary art. You help position Dortmund as a vibrant cultural hub well beyond the city's and region's borders and experience the creation of art that often only gets exhibited in major institutions and established museums worldwide several years later.

• Free admission to approximately 300 art associations that are part of the Association of German Art Associations (ADKV)
• Free admission to Dortmunder U through the ADKV membership
• Exclusive member offers that allow you to engage with artists and art professionals: exhibition preview Work in Progress, art trips (documenta, Venice Biennale, …), studio visits, tickets for art fairs, and much more
• Private tours upon request
• Personal invitations to all exhibitions and events of the Kunstverein (via mail and/or email)
• Exclusive opportunity to purchase artworks (Jahresgaben). These are unique pieces or limited-edition works offered at a discounted price, created in collaboration with the exhibiting and selected artists
• All Kunstverein publications at a reduced price. Limited-edition artist catalogs for the exhibitions are free of charge
• The membership fee is tax-deductible

Annual Membership Fees:

• First-year students in artistic subjects at TU Dortmund or FH Dortmund: 1st year free
• Students and pupils: €25
• Artists: €50
• Eligible for reduced membership: €50
• Regular membership: €100
• Corporate membership: €750
• Supporter membership: €2.500
