► An event as part of the 2026 annual program at the Wendy vs Tinkerbell bar, meeting space, and workshop
Security architecture of a totalitarian power, between artistic solutions and shifting mental boundaries. The PO-2022 project arose in response to the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. It references both the PO-2 (PO-2) concrete fence designed by Boris Lachmann in the 1970s and the Berlin Wall in relation to the East-West divide. The publication being presented focuses on the global theme of borders and demarcation as power-political systems of authority and order. It documents the development of the project idea, the creative processes, and archival material, and includes a text by art critic Julia Stellmann.
Hans Ostapenko is a Ukrainian artist who has lived in Dortmund since 2006. Together with the MNPL collective, he works at the intersection of art and architecture, focusing on ideologically charged buildings. Together they developed the sculpture PO-2022, which makes references to the Berlin Wall and post-Soviet fences.
Wendy vs Tinkerbell is a project within the Kreativ.Quartiere Ruhr program, funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and implemented by the Regionalverband Ruhr.
