15 February – 17 May 2026

Opening: Saturday, 14 February 2026

Die Andere Seite der Nacht (en: The Other Side of The Night) is dedicated to the realm of dreams. While concepts and definitions that have shaped Western thought since the Enlightenment are currently undergoing rapid transformation in the digital and post-truth era, the dichotomies of light and darkness, reality and fiction, wakefulness and dreaming also appear to be eroding. The exhibition invites visitors to reconsider the archaic moment of sleep—which accounts for one third of human life—as a personal and social value. It explores the resistant potential of dreaming, which unites body and emotional life in darkness: a practice of both withdrawal and connection in which one surrenders to the unknown, to the elusive realm of the subconscious.

Featuring works by seven international contemporary artists as well as a participatory “Nap Room”, the exhibition demonstrates the individual and collective power that can be drawn from dreaming in the present day. The exhibition is accompanied by a varied special program.
