TALK

with Annekathrin Kohout, Astrid Wilk and Philip Wiegard: The Small – Does Art Have a Minimum Size?

11 October 2025, 6 PM

Panel Discussion as Part of the Show and Tell Weekend:
The Small – Does Art Have a Minimum Size?

with Annekathrin Kohout, Astrid Wilk, and Philip Wiegard, moderated by Rebekka Seubert, Artistic Director

The small is political: societal changes allow for a fresh perspective on the relationship between size, impact, and significance in contemporary art. Together with cultural scholar and author Annekathrin Kohout, artist Astrid Wilk, and artist Philip Wiegard, the discussion explores the role of the small, fragile, or everyday in artistic practices. Does art need to be large to make an impact? And how do scale and dimensions shape our perception, access, and the value of art?
