Zoe Williams, Katie Shannon & Keira Fox: TLC23 and The Amber Press
An evening that pours a performance into a publication that explores trauma, mania and collectivity through the valves of subcultures and melancholy.
► English language event
► The bar will be open from 7pm for drinks, the publications will be available from this time and the durational performance will continue throughout the evening.
TLC23 is the London based collective instigated by Artists Keira Fox and Katie Shannon. The project initiated out of combined interest and research into mania, trauma states and unravelling female personas within film, writing and performance.
This led to collectivised events, their first in 2021 in London, enacting their research via performance, music, set dressing, site specific happenings, curating and organising. TLC23 collaborates with fellow artists, musicians and makers to create blurred line environments between event and art space.
As part of the Artists Self Publishing Fair 8 in London in 2023, they produced a publication live through a performative assembly line publicly staged, a report that included new feminist texts and a collection of documentation spanning TLC23's outputs and referencial materials.
For this second edition - TLC23 and The Amber Press - the artists will create an updated performative work as publication in response to Zoe William's Liquid Currency.
As part of the artistic performance the artists call to make donations to Medical Aid Palestine (MAP) during the event. In return, donors will receive a copy of the publication printed on site or afterwards via email proof of donation to the MAP website, the artists will then send a copy of the publication out in the post.
Please contact tlc23life(et)gmail.com if you would like a TLC23 and The Amber Press publication.
The event is part of the Kreativ.Quartiere Ruhr program, funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science & ecce - european center for creative economy.
