Multimedia artist Anna Ehrenstein (*1993, lives in Berlin and Tirana) grew up between Dortmund and Tirana as the child of Albanian parents. With the augmented reality work Coffee Ground Imaginaries, the artist connects past, present and future in physical and digital space in conversation with AR Studio 4DHD (aka Cibelle Cavalli Bastos and Coco Magnusson). Previously implemented as psychogeographic walks in Berlin and Oslo, Ehrenstein is developing a new, site-specific version for the Kulturmeile. Along the route, posters with QR codes lead into an animated landscape in which an avatar emerges from coffee grounds and prophesies less individual than collective futures.
As an extension of Anna Ehrenstein's augmented reality work in public space, original Mokka and Lokum at the Dortmunder Kunstverein give visitors the opportunity to read their own coffee grounds.
