ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

The workshop will be led by Fatma Özay.

How can a single letter become a pattern? Inspired by calligraphic traditions from Arabic, Persian, and Ottoman cultures, we will work with letterforms, abstract them, and create open compositions from them.

The workshop is open to everyone, regardless of experience or background.

Wendy vs Tinkerbell is a bar and workshop space by artist Philip Wiegard at the Dortmunder Kunstverein: From 2025 to 2027, it will be a laboratory for practical and intercultural knowledge transfer, with a special focus on arts and crafts and aesthetic practice. More information and workshop program

As a bookstore, café, and cultural center in Dortmund’s Unionviertel, Taranta Babu has offered space for readings, discussions, and intercultural exchange since 1979. Named after a literary anti-fascist figure, the venue stands for diversity, solidarity, and political engagement. Website
